We believe that music—singers, songwriters, composers, snapping fingers, and other instruments—is one of God’s greatest gifts to the world. The whole creation makes music in praise of the Creator. Birds sing, whales hum, frogs croak, cows moo, snakes hiss, trees clap their hands, and waters splash for joy.
The Choir leads the congregation in worship and praise twice a month and on the Festivals of Christmas and Easter. Rehearsals are every Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m from late August to late May. We welcome not only singers, but also instrumentalists of every variety to make music with us. The choir doesn’t only make music. It is also a place for community and belonging where we share each other’s joys and sorrows. ALL interested singers of any age, experience, or spiritual commitment are welcome to come and make music with us!.
In addition to the choir, the Old Dutch Church is often graced with community musicians and singers.
The Handbell Choir is an ensemble which plays for holidays and at other times throughout the year, bringing extra beauty to our worship. If you can count, you can play the Handbells. Every person of any age, experience, or spiritual commitment are welcome to come and play the bells with us.
